Overview
In recent years, there has been an increase in demand for student management applications. University students are looking for ways to better manage their students’ activities and performance.
The goal of this product is to design a solution that uses technology to make learning seamless while providing a user-friendly experience. For students around the world, this means they can use the technology solution to significantly improve their learning experience and ensure good success in school and life.
Discovering a Problem:
Numerous university students struggle with a range of issues, such as academic, financial, and social pressures. Other students find it difficult to acquire the knowledge and tools they need to manage their time and achieve academic success, which makes it difficult for them to maintain a healthy lifestyle and causes worry and a sense of being overburdened.
These difficulties may be crippling and adversely affect a student's capacity for academic success. In order to create successful strategies to offer solutions to support university students and help them achieve, it is crucial to comprehend the complexity of the difficulties they confront.
Stakeholders Discovery
I had discovery meetings with the stakeholders and relevant decision-makers to understand their expectations for the app and any other significant factors that needed to be considered in building the Cubbes application.

How may we help students become more successful and productive academically while also redefining the idea of student life?
Design Process
The design process began with identifying our target audience: Who needs Cubbes to automate their academic life?
We established standards for university students who understood the need to automate their academic lives and become successful, effective learners. The goal is to dramatically enhance their educational experience and guarantee their academic and personal success.
The Design Approach
We began the process of designing the solution by learning how students are currently productive in their academic work as well as by recognising their demands and pain points from their regular activities in school. We also hoped to hear from them regarding the tools and applications that they currently use to navigate this lifestyle.
While discovering the problems, the key problems that were identified were:
Brainstorming
We held multiple brainstorming meetings to produce ideas and solutions that would assist us to determine the main features and functionalities that needed to be included in the designs, based on our user research and the business needs.
User Flow
The next step was to design the user flow, which would depict how a user would navigate the app from their initial access point to their last interaction.
Onboarding & Authentication
To build a user-friendly and secure experience for new users to access the app, the onboarding and authentication design was created. I looked into ways to make the process of creating an account simpler so that users could do it quickly and easily.
Student Profile Set up
The student's school information will enable us to provide the students with the course notes, prior exam questions, and other learning materials they require for that session without overburdening them with information that isn't necessary.
Home - Calender - Timetable - Tasks
Cubbes app is designed to help students manage their academic schedules and tasks more efficiently with a built-in calendar that allows students to view their upcoming classes and events, as well as add and edit events. The timetable feature allows students to organize their classes and other activities, and see their schedule at a glance. The tasks feature allows students to create and manage their to-do lists, set reminders, and track their progress.
By automating these important aspects of their academic lives, Cubbes app helps students stay organized and on track with their studies.
Courses
This section is designed to help students excel in their studies and deepen their understanding of the course with features like a comprehensive library of course materials and lecture notes. This also includes a database of past exam questions, allowing students to practice and prepare for upcoming exams.
The group discussions feature allows students to connect with their classmates and discuss course material, facilitating collaboration and peer learning.
The note taker feature enables students to take notes during lectures and class discussions, and organize their notes for easy reference. Additionally, the app allows students to record their classes, providing a convenient way to review the material later.
Overall, Cubbes wide range of features and tools help students become high-flying, efficient students.
Explore
This feature is designed to help students connect and network with each other to enhance the learning experience. It includes a directory of other students and groups, allowing users to search for and connect with people with similar interests.
There is also a comprehensive directory of events and activities happening on and around campus, allowing students to find and attend events that interest them.
The app also includes a database of scholarship and internship opportunities, providing students with information on how to further their education and careers.
CGPA Calculator
A feature that enables students to calculate their CGPA and keep track of their results is a valuable tool for any student. With this solution, students can easily calculate their CGPA by entering their grades for each course they are taking. The app will then use a standardized formula to calculate the student's CGPA.
In addition to calculating their CGPA, the app also allows students to keep track of their results. This means that they can view their grades for each subject they are taking, as well as see their overall academic performance over time.
This feature is especially useful for students who want to monitor their progress and ensure that they are on track to meet their academic goals.
Conclusion and Next Steps
The project was a success and the MVP of the Cubbes app is ready for user testing. This will allow the whole team to gather valuable feedback to improve the app. Internal testing showed that the app will be well-received by users and provide a valuable solution to boost academic efficiency for university students.
The project has been a great learning experience for us and we will continue to work on improving the app based on user feedback and testing results.
There are interesting features planned for future development and we are committed to continuing to build and improve the Cubbes app. It's just the beginning for this promising app.
